30th of August 2004: AI escort prefab ready
I've managed to make an improoved version for the
escort I'm planning to use in my SP project. I managed
to make it more copy-paste friendly, so even the
mappers with little/no scripting experience could use
them in their further projects.
Read it, download it and enjoy it.
28th of August 2004: Get your directional triggers!
Okee, I've just finished the documentation for some
directional tiggers. Find more about it by clicking
on the button labeled 'dir triggers' from the 'Prefabs' section.
27th of August 2004: Some prefabs coming soon
As requested, some screenshots taken from the map I
was talking earlier (25th of August).
Some time ago, some folks (including me) wanted some
portable sentry guns. The .ed file exists, so does the
.html docs that I've made for them. The archive was
mailed, but, for some strange/unexplicable reason
I didn't put it on this page. Now it's time to go
public.
This also marks the birth of a new section, called
'Prefabs'. Soon, I'll be uploading some stuff on
directional triggers and one (nice I belive) AI script
that turns two of the USMC finest into a fierce/reliable
escort.
Few words about the turrets: this prefab will allow
the player to pick up two turrets and place them
to 8 possible locations. This should allow the marine
to set up a defensive perimeter around critical areas.
I expect this prefab to be used in single player (anyway
this is where I'm planning to use it) or in MP in games
like 'Overrun' or 'Evac'.
25th of August 2004: AvP2 mappers joint project
Ok, I took a look at the .ed. As I said in my report
(see avpnation.com forum) I've added a brand new hull
(first review) and changed all brushes to detail 1
(second revier) in an attempt to make the level process
faster and to eradicate leaks. More details on the forum
mentioned above.
16th of August 2004: Minor overall update
Changed the backgroung picture for the button for the
mapping tutorial so that the word 'hullmaker' fits in
the image. Also, fixed some typos ...
Also I've been working on a 4-floor elevator (something
like Coty's). However, although I managed to tell the
keyframer to move to a specific key, I have some problems
with the doors, shitches etc. For some reason, they keep
falling appart, despite my 'msg lift (attachlist (...))'
messages. However, I won't abandon the idea. Well, not
soon, anyway.
Oh yeah, and the links to the archived tutorials and
that demo map will work from now ...
13th of August 2004: Mapping tutor update
I've included some stuff about hullmakers. These babies
solved one [pretty] big problem I've encountered while
working on my SP map. However, it has been fixed, and
you get an updated tutorial ...
10th of August 2004: Step into my office
Ok, now I don't know much about web design, but I do know
that black and green go nice together. So, except the text
you see right now, all links, buttons, rulers and so on will
be colored with these two colors.
For now, only three links, to some (very) small tutorials
I made so far. When I'll finish the map I'm working on,
another link (called 'maps' maybe) will appear. So far,
these three will have to do:
- a GIMP tutor
- some mapping stuff
- some skinning stuff
Oh, and yes, the front page will be the 'news' page.
However, this is 'my office' so don't expect some
super-graphics around here. Just pure functionality.
And yes, all the pics were made with The GIMP.
